Happy new year folks.

Time for my first blogpost of the year.

Quite a few firsts for me in new year 09.

1st place I was at when it was new year: Church. Had countdown party there, hogged GH4 till the ppl there blacklist me for playing too much. It was fun, and stayed over without sleeping, tok crap sing song and just did nonsense.

My ass also hurt. New year new fall. First fall of the year. Ouch.

My phone almost died. New year 1st drop in 7-11 nearly killed it. It was through freak accident that i manage to revive the screen again when all hope seems lost.

1st time see ppl play mahjong live. LOL.

What i want for 09:
Entry to good JC
Lesser pimples
Bigger pipes
Become an usher SL or at least can play with walkie tokie.
Start serving in Life Feed (cam crew aka rocketlauncher holders)
Start leading sum1 in church.
Be myself, a better one.

There was one period of time nobody was there for me. I had to shoulder it all myself. But then, now at least there are a few i can lay my head on their shoulder and cry on. (though i cant really cry -.-) I finally realized the meaning of being there for somebody and how much it can affect another person's destiny. So, when you think of leaving somebody in the lurch, think again.

Its been time i should update my blog.
Warning: Long post. And non taggers will be shot on sight.

Academic/School
For the sec4s of 2008. Time to feel the pressure now. 88 days before the "O" Lvls. Yet how many of us can sustain a productive studying regime? Some people are like me, do homework 10 mins turn around use comp surf net 30 mins. Or some may be super efficient and manage to internalise everything into their heads at once. I can be very efficient if i want to, but i cannot find the key to unlock this power yet. Today studied Organic Chemistry, shall say i manage to absorb at least 70% of the content. Then went on to do the stupid comprehension about the London and its theatres, its hellish. My head spins when i read it. The summary took me at least 1hr++ including times when im distracted. Thats why i am posting at this time now. LOL.
One thing. I HATE HOMEWORK given when near exam period. Maybe english homework, because its the necessary evil? But for other topics, i rather they give us the free reign to revise and go through whatever we dont know yet, then to be fed with lots of work till we sometimes have no time to revise at all. Notice i say no homework, revise instead, not no homework, lets go play. Liddat do homework better. Academic Excellence!!

For non school stuff... and its HAPPIER OF COURSE!!
AE Open House was great. I managed to pull my dad along, and his reception was pretty good!! He even liked the worship songs played, especially Amazing Grace. He felt like home, and props to the leaders and pastors who made this AE Open House an success. Now i need to buy a CD-R, so I can burn the songs for him so he can play in his car audio system =)). Then get influenced and finally get saved. Yeah!

Been called to usher Day 1 & 2 of Festival of Praise. YEAH MAN. I wonder does these add up into Usher Evaluation form.. but this is not the focus. The focus is on serving God with all your heart!! From the book of Matthew it says that be a good servant, and patiently wait for the masters return.. meaning be a good servant of God!. Yeah man. Ushering with Fighters on this saturday as well, but its really hectic, but I pray its gonna be a success! And with the sense of urgency, we work ourselves to a higher efficency!! And i will not forget my stuff this time round. Jeremy!! See me get a <75% for this round man!! Hahas.

About my personal life.

I find myself being more secure, more stable in emotions than before.
I occasionally feel some sense of insecurity, but i know its the work of the Devil, the noises in our head.
Despite the not so good school life, due to the 2 idiots again, they still cannot pull me down man. I have a great life outside school, and nothing can stop me from having it.

Many times, just as we begin to rise up in our spiritual lives, taking steps of faith, we will often encounter noises in our head. Bad noises i mean. "devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour". Since the Devil cannot do anything much, all he can do is to put noises into our head to try to seperate us from God. However, our brothers and sisters in Christ do suffer the same thing, and as we go through all these noises and sufferings, we will be "perfect" -- stronger in character etc, "establish" -- makes you firm in the walk of God, "strengten" -- stronger in faith, "settle" -- settle and never stray from God.

These verses struck me like a lightning bolt to the head. Recently i have been feeling down and stuff, but now im feeling better. Thx to those who bother asking, u guys rock =)

Today. I managed to do the Holiday - Greenday guitar solo!! I feel so high now man, my first guitar solo done myself in my life. I feel i am one step closer to what i envisioned repeatedly in the toilet. Though that is a simple solo.. but at least its a solo rite?

Celebrated raaghav bdae with a SUPER HUGE SURPRISE!!
Plan composed last min by us!!

1. HOGC ppl on train. Darryl and i jio them go khatib with me. Ppl jioed: Jaslyn, Valhan, Jooyu, Elysia, Darryl, Reuben.

2. Alighted at khatib. Told Raaghav on phone "Yo bro, lets go fitness corner slack." He agreed.

3. Met raaghav at fitness corner. Then the rest went to buy cake whereas i talked lots of stuff to him.

4. Darryl and ppl appeared, singing happy birthday. Raaghav was like WTH?! But he was pleseantly suprised.

5. Took several dumbdumb photos tgt. Shall upload when the cameragirl sends me the photos =)

In conclusion, everything is a success. Really must thank you all for accompanying me all the way to khatib =) YOU GUYS ROCK!!

Recently trying my best not to screw up playing Holiday - Greenday.

Cannot believe im so noob to screw up in a supposedly simple song to play. Still need to get timings right, and to learn the solo.

Saw this guitar chord/scales book in woodlands music shop at $8.56. Chord dictionary with scales. Probably gonna buy it if i have money, and whats up with $8.56?? cannot be it be $8.50? save trouble collecting unesscary coins.

I am really desperately in need for a electric guitar teacher. One which is super patient, interested in heavy metal and gospel, and willingness to teach idiots like me >.< Should i get now or after the O levels? I feel my playing like stuck liddat.

And my first dota match after 3 months of inactivity. Not as bad i expected, in fact quite good though my team lost in the end. My score and streak i shall say is pure tyco. lol.

With the Lord, anything is possible.

Im somewhat confused.
What is exactly my ambition?

When i was like abit younger... maybe sec 3?
I wanted to develop in the field of IT when i grow older.
Partly because im quite proficient at it, and computers/electronics to me is like second nature.
And I heard the IT sector is pretty lucrative and since i was so addicted to computer last time, so it is like my destiny liddat.
Somemore i heard if u suan geeks/nerds now. Next time u have to eat their shit for work. Thats quite true actually. Look at Bill Gates can already.

But the more i look at things now, the more i somewhat despise office workers lol. *No offence to anybody, this is just my personal views and i hope you respect them as i respect yours* Work 8-5pm, do endless paperwork, make urself look like a totally man-eating businessman, scaring little kids, making me think of United Abominations (a great Megadeth song with anti-UN lyrics), making me think of Symphony Of Destruction (especially the businessman from whatever sg company come to CHS to talk crap and waste my time. That guy literally reminded me of the President being shot in the music video of Symphony Of Destruction. A really great song though). Then you eat the bosses shit for meals, suck up and polish his boots just to earn your rice bowl, then backstab others just for that promotion or play some dumb retarded office politics. Increasingly i fear to become a office worker. Maybe i dont mind working as a freelance businessman?? But who knows.

**This does not apply to anybody working in spiritual environments eg. church. Instead i respect them.**

This is partly due to Eddie jioing me to pick up guitar at the end of year holiday at 2007. I picked up due to my recent liking of metal music, and somewhat got this thought from my ass that maybe i can be as great as Dave Mustaine. But it gets harder and harder. I am still at the begineer stage and yet i am getting owned everywhere. I cannot do alternate pickings fast without f**king up. Lots of stuff lah. Its like forcing your left hand to write when you are a right-hander. When i told my church frds when we were on a train ride home, and i told her that dream of becoming a guitarist playing on stage might fail, something she said impacted me. "no such thing as fail luh". Wow. Pretty idealistic i shall say. But that somewhat reignited the fuse inside me. CONTINUE PLAYING!! CONTINUE LEARNING!! DONT STOP!!!

And i have much to owe to my church for making me pick up the guitar again. I already given up this year at Feb. But picked it up after Easter again. Due to the desire to be on stage playing electric guitar one day. And i believe i can hand it over to the Lord who will help me develop the skills needed to glorify him by using the guitar and playing heavy metal.

IT is like my right hand. Guitar is like my left hand. And i am right handed.
But yet i want to develop my "left hand" too. Its a upward climb, but with the LORD, anything is possible.

A rigid routine with little flexibility
Since i am a person easily wandering off.

Within 2 hours.
Do drills, song learning.
Drills all with metronome.. but can i hear it anot.
I tried doing downstrokes, tremelo picking at anything below 400bpm sustained. . Can keep up initially, but after 30 sec my arm gonna die lol and then slow down zzz.

Must really speed up the git learning process. I had it for like 7-8 months and i only can play 1 song (heart of worship), and the intro of crazy train, MoP, holiday which rly sucked hard imo.

Some ppl tell me dun nd learn technique 1 lah. just zham song naturally can learn.. but i wonder how will this work out for me leh.

Summore i like noob hand eye coord liddat. So make things harder for me.

So complicated just to plan a git routine since i have no more exams. lol.

Its midnight now and yet i am typing this.
Its the Amaths paper tomorrow for those in CHS taking Prelim 2.
The last paper which many of us do not have the strength and fuel to study for it, me included.
We are already tired, weary of the prelims, waiting to be set afree from the cages of the exams. You dread the incoming of exams, but when its over, it seems like yesterday.
I can think of 10000000 things to do after exams, and somebody recommend me a nice movie to watch =)

I realised i am a very super duper freaking omg slow movie/anime watcher.

I recommended Blood+ (owe raaghav to this) to Yanwen, she aldr finished the whole anime. Where i am? SECOND EPISODE!!!
I watched 放羊的星星 as recommended by Clare. Ppl finish the show 20 episodes 2 times. Where i am? SECOND EPISODE!!
Look. The second Episode syndrome is on me.
Naruto Manga. Very long never read already. Anime not even bothered already.

And i need to come up with a more effective git training routine.
Probably 2 hours a day if its jampacked.
1 hour song learning
Settled the intro for Green Day - Holiday. Time for the chorus riffs.
Need to polish up the strumming for The Heart Of Worship - Matt Redman
1 hour practice - drills/theory/chords
6 min NON-STOP alternate picking, tremelo picking, upstrokes. (30 sec each picking pattern)
I can currently only do this drill without stopping for around 3 mins before my hand gets really tired.
Too bad lah. Beginner only.

Im planning to do a new SE Handphone theme, this time will be far better than the one featured on my DA page. Maybe HOGC themed? But one thing confirmed. The lightning used in my blog header will be used. So you guess the theme of the theme already?

Btw, All the best to whoever taking exams on the first week of term 3. =)

Very important and meaningful.
I guess everyone wants to be Sons and Daughters rather than Servants right? =P

Something just came off my mind. And i need to pour my hearts out.

God created you to be a masterpiece. Nobody is an accident. You are designed to carry out His master plan. And you are loved, regardless of who you are.

This is the meaning of some of the verses in the Bible. I am not the kind of person who exactly remember which book which verse in the Bible. I usually get the meaning of these verses and keep then into memory, thats all. Hence the lacking of scripture reference. Darryl told me these scriptures, and i felt really impacted by it till now after understanding the underlying meaning.
You will be given a damn regardless who you are, whether you are handsome or not, cool or not, humorous or not. You are loved for who you are, not what you are. -- In anywhere else especially HOGC

The timeplan by BMT is really the coolest thing i ever followed.
It provides a whole new level of discipline into my life.
No longer its in disarray.
I followed 80% of it, and managed to mug!!

Tonight shall be the night i do my FIRST Quiet Time at home.

I bought the Gatsby hair gel (Wet look, Hard holding power) for $7 at CK at 848 tonight while having dinner with my dad.
IT HAS NO FREAKING HOLDING POWER.
The wet look is quite cool tho.
Maybe i should try mixing it with the Green Moving Rubber wax and see the effects.

And one thing i noticed in myself.
I am slowly opening up to various music again.
After being a hardcore Metal fan after listening to Dragonforce. I would be somewhat anti-pop/rock and I listened to Metal all the way.
It was to me in the middle of sec 3 that any song has no guitar solo = fail.
After being advised by someone (ask me whos that on msn) in HOGC to just open up the music taste and balance.
I heeded it, since i am abit getting tired of chaotic music.
Now i still like Metal, but i appreciate Mandopop and Hard Rock and just Rock.
Mandopop because of beautiful vocals. S.H.E, 卓文萱, Jay Chou anyone??
Hard Rock because of the mood created. Papa Roach anyone??
Metal because of the guitar solos. Megadeth, Slayer, Judas Priest anyone??

Still. Worship songs are the most beautiful ones out there. It touches your heart directly, and anyone can sing along regardless whether you have a voice of Rob Halford or a duck.

28th May 2008
Slacking at home.
Till Jooyu called me up to go study.
Then made my way to Ri Ben Cun @ Cathay Orchard. A mass HOGC congregation was there. Damn, why i ate a full EVM meal before that? End up having to embarassingly reject offers to eat for free. Val Han went home after that, and instead of studying, Clare called Tock!! Then Clare, Tock, Jooyu, Yixiong and I went window shopping at Cathay. Apparently shops nearby have discounts or smth. Too bad nobody bought anything. =(.
Then we decided to find Jianfan and Ranford who are cutting their hair at a cross salon near northpoint. Khatib -> Dhoby Gaut -> Yishun. The feeling is like going home.
Jianfan seem to be unhappy with his hair. =(
Ranford cut hair until like chao ah beng liddat. =)
Then Jooyu decided to be random and took my phone and take a 1 sec vid of Jianfan messing around. LOL.
Then ate dinner at Northpoint foodcourt. Recommend the BBQ Sauce Chicken Rice from the Korean stall. Thx to Jianfan for recommending me that stall =).
After that we saw Sherlyn and her friends.
Jooyu, Sherlyn and frds and I went to BK to study.
FINALLY.
We studied till 10++.
Then went home.
Then played guitar till 3:30am while msning Darryl.
Slept.
My soul went to headbang in the netherworld =P.

Today morning, played some random crap on guitar.
Took a video of myself butchering the intro of Crazy Train then Master of Puppets. Sounds awful and abit out of rythmn. Deleted soon after.
I called Jooyu up to study.
Just nice Jianfan and Sherlyn studying at Novena Starbucks atm. So we 2 decided to join the fun.
One thing good bout HOGC ppl studying together.
Nobody talked crap.
Can concentrate very well.
Joined the fun at 4pm.
Then studied till 7pm.
Val Cheong came. Arrival of Sherlyn "twin". =P
Cheng Guan, Cindy came too.
We want to eat dinner then go back to study. Props to Cheng Guan to be a gentleman and take care of our stuff. Rest of us went for window shopping @ Velocity. (Trying to copy Vivocity???). The clothes, backpacks @ Animal are wayyyyyyy overpriced man. I bet I can find something similiar for 1/3 the price @ Bugis Street. Then Cindy and I went for dinner while the rest went back to starbucks since nobody else were hungry ghosts other than the 2 of us. 两人世界。Hahaha joking. Then i saw mi mum eating oso. WTH. Anyway she saw me and gave me koptiam card so can save $0.35 <3. After our meal, we decided to go back to starbucks to study. The rest all left, and we met them halfway at the zebra-crossing. Haha. Left Sherlyn, Cindy and me studying.
9pm, we decided to pack up and leave.
Always when i on my "hiong" mode, then people decide to leave. Haha.
Anyway, Sherlyn and Cindy decided to go to Toa Payoh for windowshopping. I just tagged along. Dint realise Toa Payoh so long stretch of clothing shops. TOO BAD GIRL STUFF ONLY >.< . Sherlyn bought a cute dress at $10. Finally some results. Then bade farewell to them at the toa payoh elevator.
Now its 独自世界 hahaha.
These 2 days quite happening.

Went for history remedial from 10:30 till 12:30. Nothing happened much, just a typical history lesson. Went home with Marcus and friends.

At 1pm, I met up with Meng Long at 848 to have lunch. Then Raaghav who originally wanted to buy drumset as there was a 50% discount over there (OMG???). Too bad HDB is not a good place to jam with drums, so he seem disappointed that he did not buy it. Then he met us at Khatib at around 1:45. Then we went to the void decks to talk crap. We gossiped about alot of stuff. And something just came to my mind. A 6AA Chalet!! As i told them about it, the response seemed good. I actually wanted to organise something of this kind for the past few years, but just cannot move my butt to do it. Gaining inspiration from recent church outings, I am confident that it will be a success if people go for it. It is hard as 6AA"04 is so disintegrated compared to a super united 6AB"04. Anyway, with faith and confidence, anything is possible!!

Around 3pm, we went to Raaghav's house. Now its not that hot as before, as he opened the windows. Very condusive to talk crap and gossip, and the talking just went one step further. I just realised Meng Long's maturity is far beyond what i expected. Dun mistake me, i know hes matured, but his maturity shown today shocks me. I learnt quite alot of stuff from him, and Raaghav's crapping ability is still as great as before, if not better.

And I shall return back to mi practise routine of 1 chord per day. Then songs after i feel i am okay. Because whatever Meng Long said impacted me. His uncle, a drummer, used to just play "drum" on a biscuit tin. But then he improved his speed and rythm from there, then became a pretty good drummer after 1 year of biscuit tin drumming. And he said that 2 pianists performing on stage a same musical piece may have no difference, even that one is Grade 8 and one is Grade 1. Both can play a Grade 8 piece. But a Grade 8 will probably learn it in 1 day and Grade 1 in 2 months (just an example). This deeply impacted me and now i shall just improve and refine on basics. That means no song learning for now. Just practice on techniques.

Went home at 5pm.
Went to clinic with dad at 9pm.
Cos i have cough + sorethroat + flu(impending)
Got MC from tomorrow till thursday.

First day of redrain concert, brought Raaghav along.
2nd day of redrain concert
The atmosphere totally own yesterday's one. Everyone literally go gaga over them.
The lighting is simply amazing. Props to the lighting crew who were in charge for these 2 days.
The instrumental is the part i <3 most. Sick drum solo followed by a nice bass solo then finally a guitar solo. Yeah. The song Symphony and the other one with the chorus "Sieze the day" rocked my socks. Too bad i did not bring my DVcam along, also i doubt they are allowed.

Went for fellowship @ esplanade rooftop with dzone ppl. Played zombie with them, pepsi-cola. Was pretty fun to say. Through these we bond. Thats why its called fellowship. I forgotten my emo mood and simply had fun. I knew more people by the way, and i simply loved these felloship session. Infact its my first one if i am not wrong.

Pretty much a slack day.
Only have HCL Intensive, Maths.
Maths is pure paper drillfest, but who minds? Its at least better than HCL intensive.
During HCL lesson, I dont have the compre qn paper anyway. Cos i pon saturday HCL lesson. So i just pretended around, listening to Jeff's Mrbrown podcast bout... new tongkat ali (if you dont know, dont bother). Entire HCL lesson at the end of the day is basically sleeping, listening to mrbrown. And the teacher did not even question why my question paper is not there. There is nothing at my table at all.

After school. Went to play bball with the 4-6 ppl. Beginner's luck fell upon me. Haha.
Played till 4. Then bought bubbletea then went home with hl, sh, dx.

Pure open chords practice till now. Need to work on my fingering. Bye.

Last Sunday 17th May
Went for D Zone outing @ Sentosa. Pretty fun. Lots of games and stuff. But forget to bring suntan lotion =(. Its pretty fun, and got to know more people and made several new friends there. Overall, i rate the trip 8.5/10. Looking foward to the Secondary School Church Camp in June Hols!!

Watched Iron Man at AMK Cathay with Jooyu and Darryl. This movie deserves the title "Classic". I really mean it. I do not mind even watching twice or thrice. Its freaking nice. Nothing else can describe its worksmanship. After that we decided to surprise Reuben by travelling all the way to Sembawang to visit his house. Then ate downstairs at the food court. He look surprised that we even came to find him. Haha. The food court hygiene sucks. Our food tio dead fly at least once. Then went back home. Then got sick and thats y i dint come school.

Cos its freaking hard to learn!! The skills required are just too much.
Have been learning for 6 months (actual real learning time approx 1.5 months) and still stuck on open chords. This really sucks lah.
What i need now is more motivation to continue learning, and not give up.

Got one featured me as a drunkard going drunk and involved in accident. Then i became stupid and stuff. Like a prisoner. Damn dumb but must blame leonard for giving me such stupid roles. That was probably in sec1?. Gordon's group is even better. Gordon trying to lipsync, while Jason and another guy are really playing acoutstic guitar. Oh btw. Gordon's back is super screwed up. The amount of sweets we ate today is crazy, thank God i did not have diarrhoea after that ^^. After that Leeyang pestered for dota, junhan was stoning, gml and beier were playing ps2, 1 spoilt controller also can plae, zhai. I got nothing to do, so i try to play classical songs on mi electric guitar. Sounded pretty weird -.-. Guess its time to get a real classic/acoustic soon!! ^^

2dae worship session led by Fifi is zhai lah. Felt the presense of God, and as i prayed, i just suddenly felt that i should surrender all mi probs to Him and let him handle it well. I felt unusually peaceful after that, and honestly before i went in i was feeling troubled.. one by wC rejecting pink skinnies, and another due to the dh prob. Aft that played pool with darryl, reuben and jooyu. 1/1 loss/win. not vry good bah, but heck its for fun. Aft that ate dinner with them. then went home and creeped up in the comp to type this post.

A blog, definitely have posts right? So this is the first official one. -.-

Thinking about random crap, dreams? idk. guitarist? businessman? conman?! But i am certain that i do have sweet dreams, unlike raaghav who dreamt bout being pwnt by cockroaches and worse =P. hahaz.

I have been going to this church called Heart of God Church (hogc) recently. Quite cool lah i shall say. Been inducted by wc during easter, and never turning back(for now lah =D). I originally thought it was some traditional individual building. Proved me wrong. It was in the most unlikely building in mi dreams. Singpost?! wth?? I thought thats only the post office main hq, dint expect a church to be built there.
When i entered there, the atmosphere damn nice sia. I dunno rock inspired worship songs can be played in churches lah. Then the general friendliness of the members of the church, sealed my decision with a giant invisible tome to come every week. Regardless of other's opinions, sayings, i will still come.
Coming to Hogc, i felt myself changing slowly for the better. I have done many stupid, reckless shit in the past, garnered a fcked reputation in school. I may not be able to change it in chs, but maybe things will be better in jc/poly. Thats one of the reason y i accepted wc invitation during easter. I really needed a change, and probably church can provide solution. Regardless what others say, i do not care. I see for myself, i think for myself, why should others influence me with insubstantial comments?

Y this blog address is so long? A tout le monde is a french phrase, which means to everybody. To everybody: set me free. This is the meaning about mi blog address. Freedom? Singapore freedom mi butt. Almost no freedom of speech, binded by studies, by parents, ALMOST EVERYTHING!. Also inspired to have this blog address due to this song by Megadeth called A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free), featuring Christina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil. One of the first sentimental metal songs heard, and its pretty nice too.

Yesterday played pool at church. Finally i felt i got better. Maybe cos of the lesser pressure, or the innate proness is coming out already =P. I no longer played like how i did in Dx's blog videos bout mi pooling skill. use stick hit white ball, end up white ball go right instead of straight, or at times white ball never move, or solid ball infront hole and white ball instead went in after push of stick, or even the white ball flying out of the table. I guess practice makes perfect. Maybe i should play more pool, next time no more chance for dx to take such vids =)) Won 2 lost 1 yesterday. not bad for a noob pooler.
